Mechanical Metronome

Operation

• This metronome operates by clockwork motion. Wind up the spring using the winding key, taking care not to over-wind it.

• Move the sliding weight to the desired tempo as shown on the dial plate immediately above the sliding weight.

• Pull out the bell tone selector to ring on the desired beat, denoting the length of each bar of music.

• Gently unhook the pendulum from the securing hook and move to the left or right to begin the rocking motion.

• Gently stop the pendulum by hand after use and place it in the securing hook.

• If the motion runs out, stop the pendulum and secure it before winding up the spring.

Precautions

• Use the metronome on a level surface

• If the pendulum becomes stuck or jams to the left or right, do not force towards the centre, gently wind the key to move it.

• Return the pendulum to the centre and place in the securing hook after use.

• Keep the metronome away from excessively humid or dusty environments.

• Clean with a dry lint-free cloth, do not use solvents or detergents.

• Do not disassemble the metronome or remove any parts (e.g. sliding weight or bell tone selector).
